The drive from Leipzig to Dresden
It is about 120 kilometres from Leipzig to Dresden. We take the A 38 and A 14 to the Nossen junction and then the A 4 into the city. Without traffic that is about an hour and a half; with a loaded van we allow a little more.

A two- to three-room flat usually fits into one day: loading, driving, unloading. One free day is enough, and by the evening your bed is already standing in the new flat.
What moving day can look like
- Loading in LeipzigWe take furniture apart, carry it down and secure it in the van.
- DepartureOn the A 14 and A 4, about an hour and a half.
- Arrival in DresdenVan at the door, paths cleared, unloading starts.
- DoneFurniture is in place and the beds are assembled.
Example for a two-room flat with packed boxes. Floor, lift and volume shift the times. The opposite direction works the same way.
What we take care of
We do
- Taking furniture apart and preparing it for transport
- Carrying it down the stairs, also without a lift
- Loading with blankets and straps
- Driving in our own van
- Unloading and carrying into the right rooms
- Reassembling furniture at the new flat
- The no-parking zone on the Leipzig side
You prepare
- Packing and labelling boxes
- Applying for the no-parking zone in Dresden
- Clearing the cellar and attic beforehand
- Registering your new address within two weeks
We bring blankets and straps. If your flat does not fit into one van, we say so beforehand, not on moving day. And to be honest up front: we have no goods insurance (Güterversicherung).
Living in Dresden: what we look at
How a move goes is decided on the stairs and at the front door. In Dresden that depends a lot on the district:
- Äußere Neustadt, Pieschen, Löbtau: many old buildings without a lift and little kerb space. A no-parking zone almost always pays off here.
- Striesen and Blasewitz: buildings with few floors, mostly without a lift. We ask about the width of the stairs beforehand so that large wardrobes do not get stuck.
- Gorbitz and Prohlis: prefab blocks. With a lift it goes quickly, without one every floor counts.
- Loschwitz and Weißer Hirsch: hillside with steep, narrow streets. Send us a photo of the access road and we plan the parking spot in advance.

No-parking zone in Dresden
In Dresden the Straßen- und Tiefbauamt is responsible. The city asks you to apply at least 14 days before the move if possible. The signs must be up at least four days before the date, put up by the applicant or a traffic safety company you hire.
If a furniture lift stands on the street, you also pay a special-use fee. We handle the Leipzig side, and for Dresden we tell you what belongs in the application and when it has to go out.

Short-notice move: how fast we can come
You do not have to wait two or three weeks for a date. We are a family business with our own van and plan the day ourselves: if the day is free, we go, by arrangement also early in the morning, in the evening or on Saturdays. Sundays and public holidays stay free.
WhatsApp is the fastest way. Our goal is to reply within 10 minutes, Monday to Saturday from 9 am to 5 pm. If we are carrying a wardrobe up the stairs at that moment, we reply as soon as our hands are free.
You can write to us in English, and we reply in English by WhatsApp or e-mail.
Two weeks for the application and four days for the signs do not fit a move next week. In that case we work out beforehand where the van can stand and plan for the longer carrying distance.
