Furniture transport in Leipzig: a sofa, a wardrobe, a washing machine
Not every transport is a move. For a single piece of furniture we come as two people with a van and charge by time: driver with a van 30 €/hr and a helper 25 €/hr together come to 55 €/hr — blankets, straps and a sack truck included.
What furniture transport costs
There is no travel charge within 50 km of Leipzig; for longer distances we quote one total price from your photos, travel included. If you help carry yourself and only need a driver, you pay 30 €/hr — for a washing machine on the ground floor that is often enough.

From the shop or the old flat; the transit bolts must be in. Connecting to existing connections by arrangement.

When the package pays off
One or two items without assembly are cheapest by the hour. The package “2 movers + van, 3 hours” for 289 € is a fixed price that already includes travel, dismantling, assembly and transport. It pays off when wardrobes are taken apart and put together again, or when half the rooms are moving. Then it belongs more under Moving in Leipzig — we work out beforehand which is cheaper for you.

Measure first: will it fit through?
Most problems with furniture transport arise not in the van but in the stairwell. Leipzig’s old buildings have beautiful but narrow staircases with turns, and a sofa that looked small in the shop suddenly gets stuck between two landings.
- Doors — measure the width of the flat door and of the narrowest inner door
- Stairs — width and turns; a photo of the stairwell helps us more than any description
- Lift — inside dimensions and door, not just the load capacity
- Furniture — can the feet, backrest or doors be removed?
Ask the seller which floor the furniture is on, whether there is a lift and whether it can be taken apart. Send us the ad with the address — then we tell you beforehand roughly how long it will take and what it costs.
What you prepare — and what we bring
- Empty it — drawers and cupboards empty, glass shelves out
- Washing machine — fit the transit bolts, drain the water
- Fridge — defrost it, and after transport let it stand for a few hours before it is switched on again
- We bring — blankets, straps, sack truck, tools and film for upholstery
What we do not transport
A piano or a safe only by arrangement — depending on weight and stairs, more people and special straps are needed. Art, antiques and very valuable items belong with a removal company with insurance cover, not with us.
And to be honest up front: we do not have goods-in-transit insurance (Güterversicherung). We work with blankets and straps and take care; for damage we cause, we are liable within the limits of the law.
