The drive from Leipzig to Chemnitz
Of our five routes, Chemnitz is the shortest: about 90 kilometres, almost entirely on the A 72. Without traffic that is just over an hour, so the day goes into carrying, not driving.

Two movers can usually finish a three-room flat in one day, including reassembling the furniture. If you move from Chemnitz to Leipzig, the day runs the same way in the other direction.
What moving day can look like
- Loading in LeipzigWe take furniture apart, carry it down and secure it in the van.

One room is loaded quickly, and with one hour of driving it often takes just half a day.

What we take care of
We do
- Taking furniture apart and preparing it for transport
- Carrying it down the stairs, also without a lift
- Loading with blankets and straps
- Driving in our own van
- Unloading and carrying into the right rooms
- Reassembling furniture at the new flat
- The no-parking zone on the Leipzig side
You prepare
- Packing and labelling boxes
- Applying for the no-parking zone in Chemnitz
- Clearing the cellar and attic beforehand
- Registering your new address within two weeks
We bring blankets and straps. If your flat does not fit into one van, we say so beforehand, not on moving day. And to be honest up front: we have no goods insurance (Güterversicherung).
Living in Chemnitz: what we look at
Chemnitz has a lot of old buildings and a lot of prefab blocks, and each needs different planning:
- Kaßberg: late 19th-century buildings with many stairs, mostly without a lift, on the slope above the city centre. We allow more time for the stairs here.
- Sonnenberg and Schloßchemnitz: old buildings and tightly parked streets. Without a no-parking zone the way to the van can get long.
- Fritz-Heckert-Gebiet: prefab blocks in Markersdorf, Helbersdorf and Morgenleite. Whether there is a lift makes the biggest difference here.
- City centre: short distances, but little room to stop. A photo of the street in front of the building helps us plan.
Short-notice move: how fast we can come
You do not have to wait two or three weeks for a date. We are a family business with our own van and plan the day ourselves: if the day is free, we go, by arrangement also early in the morning, in the evening or on Saturdays. Sundays and public holidays stay free.
WhatsApp is the fastest way. Our goal is to reply within 10 minutes, Monday to Saturday from 9 am to 5 pm. If we are carrying a wardrobe up the stairs at that moment, we reply as soon as our hands are free.
You can write to us in English, and we reply in English by WhatsApp or e-mail.
About a week of processing plus the signs: that is not enough for a move in a few days. In that case we work out beforehand where the van can stand.
No-parking zone in Chemnitz
In Chemnitz the application goes to the Verkehrs- und Tiefbauamt, department Verkehrsbehörde, and also works online. The city states about one week of processing and a fee between €10.20 and €767 depending on the effort.
The city does not provide the signs: you put them up yourself or hire a traffic safety company, at your own cost. If a full no-stopping rule already applies at that spot, you also need an exemption permit. We handle the Leipzig side.
